Governing bodies of KHL, Dinamo, Ak Bars and Lada have agreed on holding two Riga’s club games abroad – in Finland. Dinamo will meet Ak Bars Kazan on October the 26th and Lada Togliatti the following day. Both matches will be held in Helsinki suburb of Espoo, where LänsiAuto Areena with its 7000 seats is the home of Finnish league’s team Espoo Blues.
As of now, Dinamo’s administration and the Fan club are working together so that supporters can attend the games. Presumably, it will be possible to obtain individual tickets for each game, as well as combined ticket, which includes attending both games and accommodation. More detailed information on this tour will be presented in the near future.
Let us remind you that because of Arena Riga being busy for the particular nights, Dinamo cannot host their scheduled KHL home games in their home venue. Initially the idea was to hold these matches in Vilnius; however, Siemens Arena’s staff couldn’t guarantee sufficient ice quality. Saku Suurhaal in Tallin was also taken into consideration, but there was some doubt whether there will be enough interest in the game from the locals. For this same reason management of Dinamo rejected Stockholm. In October the Swedish capital is saturated with hockey events. Along with the regular fixtures of national championship, NHL will come to the town, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburg Penguins holding an exhibition game.
