RIGA – Dinamo Riga welcome back Slovakian Marcel Hossa who returns to the club until the end of the 2011/2012 season.

Hossa previously played two seasons for the Riga club before leaving at the conclusion of the 2009/2010 season after leading the team in goals in both of his seasons with the club.

The 35 goals Hossa scored in the 2009/2010 regular season was a league-topping effort.

The 30-year-old last season played for Ak Bars and began this season with Spartak, scoring six goals and adding 11 assists in 35 games.

However the Moscow-based club has been struggling to date this season and currently sit well outside the playoff cut-off line, seeing them terminate the contracts their two biggest stars, Hossa and fellow Slovak Jozef Stumpel, at the end of December.

Hossa will have an immediate chance to seek revenge on his former club with the forward expected to play on Thursday night when Dinamo Riga host Spartak.

In returning to Riga, Hossa will also become reacquainted with his old number, 81.
