The Kontinental Hockey League’s commission has determined the best players of the seventh week of the Regular Season in four categories.
- best goalie was Evgeny Alikin (Amur), who won both his games last week, allowing only one goal. The Khabarovsk goalie posted a saves percentage of 98.48% (best result in the week), and his shutout against Severstal was his second of the year. Alikin’s shutout streak is still running at 95 minutes and 04 seconds.
- best defenseman was Albert Yarullin (Ak Bars), who won two of three games with his team last week, scoring 3 (1+2) points. The Kazan blueliner posted no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-1. Moreover, he scored points in each game. Yarullin has also recorded six hits and had eight shots on goal.
- best forward was Brandon McMillan (Dinamo Riga), who won two of three road games with his team last week, scoring 7 (1+6) points (best numbers of the week). The Canadian forward scored points in each game, posting a hat-trick of assists against Barys, and a goal and two assists against Traktor. Both times, McMillan participated in combinations that led to game-winning goals. Moreover, he posted no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-1. McMillan also recorded six hits and blocked five shots from the opposition.
- best rookie was forward Sergei Goncharuk (Torpedo), who won two road games with his team last week. In Tuesday’s game against Dinamo Minsk, the 20-years-old scored 3 (1+2) points (his career-high). Goncharuk posted no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-3 and had an average time on ice of 11 minutes and 24 seconds.
