DINAMO RĪGA has signed a contract with the 29 year old defenseman of the national team of Latvia Ralfs Freibergs, who won the title of champion of the Czech Republic last season playing with the HC OCELARI TRINEC team, but spent the 2016/2017 season in the KHL playing for DINAMO RĪGA.


Ralfs Freibergs was born on 17 May 1991 in Riga, his height is 180 cm, weight - 87 kg. He started off the 2020/2021 season in the Czech league with the HC KOMETA BRNO team (29 games, 2 goals and 6 assists), but finished with the HC OCELARI TRINEC team; during the regular championship, he had 6 assists in 15 games, gained 6 penalty minutes and the efficiency rating “+7”, while, in 16 play-off games, he scored 3 times and had 6 assists, gained 2 penalty minutes and the efficiency rating “+3”, winning the title of champion of the Czech Republic.


In total, during his professional career, Ralfs Freibergs, when playing in the KHL for 1 season for the DINAMO RĪGA team, played 38 games (1 goal and 5 assists), in 4 seasons in the Czech league, when playing for BERANI ZLIN, HC KOMETA BRNO and HC OCELARI TRINEC teams, he played 227 games (17 goals and 84 assists), 2 seasons in the ECHL, playing for ONTARIO REIGN and TOLEDO VALLEYE teams, he played 119 games (5 goals and 41 assists), in 2 seasons with the USA Student League NCAA - 4 goals and 25 assists in 45 games, in the USA Junior League NAHL (88 games, 8 goals and 70 assists) and USHL (58 games, 8 goals and 37 assists), but, before leaving for the USA, he played one season for the team in the DINAMO RĪGA system called DINAMO JUNIORS RĪGA in the Open Championship of Belarus and in the Latvian Championship.

He has participated once in 1 Olympic games and 5 world championships with the national team of Latvia, in total, playing 82 games (2 goals and 13 assists).
