Goalkeeper Kristers Gudļevskis joins DINAMO RIGA after five seasons in North America.
Kristers Gudļevskis (192 cm, 97 kg) was born on 31 July 1992 in Aizkraukle, Latvia. His involvement in hockey started in the city of Ogre. Before the 2010/2011 season he joined HK RĪGA, the junior team of DINAMO RIGA where he remained for three seasons, becoming one of the team leaders and key players. In 2013 Kristers was drafted with number 124 by Tampa Bay Lightning in the fifth round of the NHL draft.
In North America Gudļevskis played in the ECHL (Florida Everblades), AHL (Syracuse Crunch, Bridgeport Sound Tigers) and NHL (Tampa Bay Lightning). In the previous season with Sound Tigers, Kristers played 37 regular AHL season matches, conceding on average 2.83 goals per game and saving 89.7% of shots.
Gudļevskis has represented the U18, U20 and the main national team of Latvia at world championships and the Olympics.
