Dinamo Riga has signed Canadian defenseman Karl Stollery (29) who spent this past season in the system of NHL's New Jersey Devils, playing 11 games in the NHL regular championship (3 assists, 13 penalty minutes, plus/minus -5) and also played 59 games (plus 3 in play-off) in the farm club - AHL's Albany Devils (59 games, 1 goal and 16 assists, 53 penalty minutes, plus/minus +13, and in play-off - 1 assist, 2 penalty minutes, plus/minus -1). He will wear number 3 in the Dinamo team.
Karl Stollery (height 180 cm, weight 82 kg) was born on 21 November 1987, in Camrose (Alberta, Canada), and started his career playing for the local minor league team. After four seasons in NCAA, he launched his pro career joining the Lake Erie Monsters for incomplete three seasons. He has played total 335 regular championship games (28 goals and 104 assists, 289 penalty minutes, plus/minus +14) and 11 play-off games (1 goal and 2 assists, 8 penalty minutes, plus/minus -7) in six seasons spent in AHL. On spring on 2014, Karl Stollery debuted in NHL, called up for two games by Colorado Avalanche. During the 2014–15 season, he played five games for San Jose Sharks, but this past season he played 11 games for the NHL's New Jersey Devils, therefore playing total 23 games in NHL (3 assists, 21 penalty minutes, plus/minus -5).
